Complete Mastery Across
All of Cardiology

From Balloon Mitral Valvotomy and pediatric device closure to pacemakers, ablation and heart-failure devices — a full spectrum of clinical and interventional cardiology in the service of patients.

Interventional Cardiology

Coronary & Structural Interventions

Dr. Dash treats congenital heart defects, coronary artery disease, heart failure, valvular disease, rhythm disorders, rheumatic and ischemic heart disease, and more. His interventional work includes coronary angiography, angioplasty and stenting, device closure of birth defects, balloon dilatation of valves, pacemaker and heart-failure device implantation, electrophysiological testing and radiofrequency ablation.

PTCA & Coronary Stenting

Percutaneous Transluminal Coronary Angioplasty including complex Left Main Intervention — among the highest-risk coronary procedures, requiring elite skill and judgment. Large-scale Primary PCI for acute STEMI patients, directly saving lives in time-critical emergencies.

Balloon Mitral Valvuloplasty (BMV)

Among India's most experienced BMV practitioners — with more than 22,000 Balloon Mitral Valvotomy procedures before joining Capital Hospital. This minimally invasive procedure widens a narrowed mitral valve and can help poor and rural patients avoid or delay open-heart valve replacement. Particularly significant in India where rheumatic mitral stenosis remains prevalent.

Aortic Intervention (TEVAR)

Thoracic Endovascular Aortic Repair for Aortic dissection — one of the most technically demanding procedures in cardiovascular medicine. TEVAR avoids open surgery, using a stent-graft deployed via catheter to seal the aortic tear and restore normal blood flow.

Pediatric Cardiology

Congenital & Structural Heart disease in Children

Dr. Dash's pediatric cardiac work — treating newborns, infants, and children — is among the most emotionally and technically demanding aspects of his practice, and one where his expertise has saved countless young lives.

Device Closure — Congenital defects

Transcatheter device closure of ASD, VSD and PDA in newborns, infants and children — performed in a volume similar to his BMV work, helping many children avoid open-heart surgery where device closure was suitable. Dr. Dash also dedicates Saturdays every week for pediatric cardiac consultation, including patients supported under RBSK.

Balloon Valvuloplasty — Children

Balloon dilatation of congenital valvular stenosis (pulmonary, aortic) in children and adolescents. Dr. Dash's expertise in this area is documented through decades of practice at SSSIHMS — a leading pediatric cardiac centre.

DEIC–RBSK Government Programme

Active screening and treatment of children under Odisha's district Early Intervention Centres (DEIC) and the national Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram. Ensures even the most economically disadvantaged children receive world-class cardiac care.

Electrophysiology & Device Therapy

Heart Rhythm & Device Management

Electrophysiology Study (EPS)

Mapping and diagnosis of complex arrhythmias through catheter-based electrophysiology — identifying the exact electrical circuits causing abnormal heart rhythms with precision before ablation.

Radiofrequency Ablation (RFA)

Catheter-based thermal ablation to permanently eliminate arrhythmia pathways — treating SVT, atrial flutter, atrial fibrillation, and accessory pathway syndromes without long-term medication dependency.

Pacemaker & Implantable Devices

Single, dual and CRT pacemaker implantation; ICD and CRT-D for heart failure and sudden-death prevention. His association with pacemaker implantation and heart-rhythm care includes the pacemaker implantation of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba — a responsibility reflecting deep institutional trust in his clinical expertise and integrity.

Vascular & Peripheral

Vascular Interventions

Peripheral Artery Stenting

Carotid artery stenting for stroke prevention and limb artery stenting for peripheral arterial disease — minimally invasive alternatives to open vascular surgery with faster recovery.

TEVAR for Aortic Dissection

Thoracic Endovascular Aortic Repair — used to treat life-threatening aortic dissection and aneurysm. A stent-graft is deployed via the femoral artery to seal and stabilise the aorta without open chest surgery.

Free Outreach Camps

Associated with more than 45 free mega cardiac health camps across approximately six states — including Odisha, Shimla region, West Bengal, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Karnataka — organised through Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisation and supporting groups. Nearly two lakh patients received consultation and cardiac guidance, often their first specialist contact.
