Full Career Timeline

A Life in Service

Every milestone in Dr. Dash's career has been defined not by ambition alone, but by a deepening commitment to patients, students, and the institutions he serves.

1990 · Education
DM in Cardiology
SCB Medical College, Cuttack · Utkal University, Odisha
Completed the highest postgraduate qualification in Cardiology, mastering both clinical and interventional aspects of this demanding specialty. SCB Medical College — one of Odisha's premier institutions — provided the rigorous academic foundation on which his career was built. His DM equipped him with the full breadth of skills that would later define his versatility across all subspecialties.
1990 – 1996
Lecturer in Cardiology
VSS Medical College, Burla, Odisha
Began his professional career simultaneously as an educator and clinician at Veer Surendra Sai Medical College, Burla — one of western Odisha's key medical institutions. For six years, he taught the next generation of physicians while building his clinical practice, establishing the habit of parallel excellence in teaching and patient care that would characterise the rest of his career.
1996 – October 2019 · 23 Years
HOD & Chairman of Cardiology
Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Medical Sciences (SSSIHMS), Prasanthigram & Whitefield, Bangalore
For 23 years, Dr. Dash led the Cardiology Department at one of India's most celebrated charitable hospitals — an institution that offers all services completely free of charge and is accredited by the National Board of Examinations for DNB training. Under his leadership, the department became nationally recognised for clinical excellence, research, and training. Five DNB Cardiology students achieved gold medals under his direct mentorship. He performed thousands of complex interventions — pediatric device closures, PTCA/stenting including Left Main, electrophysiology and ablation, TEVAR for aortic dissection, Primary PCI for heart attacks, pacemaker and heart failure device implantation. The OPD under the department's umbrella served over 50,000 patients annually. He received the Excellent Contribution Award from CSI Bangalore Chapter in 2019 upon his departure.
December 2019 – Present
Director of Cardiology & CTVS
PGIMER & Capital Hospital, Bhubaneswar · Government of Odisha
Returned to his home state of Odisha to head the combined Cardiology and Cardiothoracic & Vascular Surgery division at the Government of Odisha's premier postgraduate medical institution. PGIMER and Capital Hospital serves 10–12 lakh people from Bhubaneswar, Khordha, Nayagarh, Puri, and surrounding districts. Dr. Dash brought his extensive expertise directly into the public health system — ensuring that patients who cannot afford private care receive the same quality of treatment as anywhere in the country. He also spearheads the DEIC–RBSK government screening programme for children with congenital cardiac conditions.
